Tabata, Alvarez Optioned to Class AAA Indianapolis

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Top prospects Jose Tabata and Pedro Alvarez were optioned to Class AAA Indianapolis on Friday morning.

Infielder Doug Bernier, outfielder Jonathan Van Every and pitchers Jimmy Barthmaier, Neal Cotts, Craig Hansen and Tyler Yates were re-assigned to the minor league camp.

Tabata had a .250 batting average and one RBI in 28 at-bats this spring. Alvarez hit .296 and had four RBI in 27 at-bats.

The moves left 45 players in the major league camp.
